Setting up the H216

Here are some tips on setting up the H216, everyone will very, but this works well for me.

Here is the boat tied down for trailering, try to use what you have and make sure nothing rubs as you are going down the highway.

Untie the mast, roll it back, and pin the foot to the hinge.

Walk the mast up and pin in place. Attach the forestay first, side shrouds next. Attach the boom and use the main halyard to hold up.

Now, pull hard on the main sheet to put about 3-4" of pre bend in the mast and tighten the upper shrouds very tight and the lowers snug. Use zip ties to hold the turnbuckles.

This works very well for day sailing, if you are racing against other H216s, you will need to find the best setting with a tension gauge.
